Berkeley and Los Angeles: University of California Press, 1969. Original blue cloth, gilt-lettered, 287 pages, a couple of illustrations. Inscribed and signed: "Greetings and best wishes for the future of the Turnerian Method." Below this is the ownership signature of Perry E. Turner, Jr. Ghiselin was "a famous systematist and evolutionary biologist" ("Argia. the News Journal of the Dragonfly Society of the Americas", 1 October, 2005, p.36, and the source of the following sentences). He also did research on "Bigfoot" claiming to have heard or seen one many times. Eventually an entomologist's lucky trip to Susanville, California turned up several mounts of rare and exotic insects in a thrift shop. Its owner said he had paid $125 for a storage unit in Sacramento which had been abandoned, it apparently contained all of of Turner's worldly possessions. Turner's whereabouts had not been discovered as of 2005. ("Rediscovery of a Lost Dragonfly Collection and the Holotype of Tanypteryx hageni (Selys) or Tanypteryx Meets Sasquatch: The Perry Turner Storypages", pages 34-37 of the "Argia" cited above). Lacks the jacket, very lightly rubbed, a Fine copy.…
