Print on Demand. This book honors and remembers the life of Sherman Hoar, a notable lawyer and public servant who sacrificed his own life in service to others. As a young man, Hoar practiced law with distinction before serving as a U.S. Attorney and later as a U.S. Representative. After answering the call to serve as a soldier in World War I, he chose to stay on the home front, dedicating his efforts to assisting and caring for the injured. Those who knew him describe Hoar as honest, fearless, and civic-minded, with an unwavering sense of duty. He fought for justice and the well-being of others throughout his life. Readers interested in U.S. history, public service, or the lives of exceptional individuals will find this book a compelling and insightful read. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book.…

- Biography and Autobiography
In college he attained high rank, and he took the Boylston Prize for oratory in his Senior year.
In the Law School he made it evident, not only to his teachers, but to his classmates, that he was in earnest, and that he gave the full power of his mind to the study of his chosen profession.
In both, his high spirits and keen and kindly wit, his good fellowship and natural manliness of thought and bearing, secured for him the unvarying respect and lasting affection of all who knew him. He was in the very best sense a popular man at all times and with all classes, and became more so as he grew older.
