Have you ever wondered why some people avoid conflicts or confrontations at all costs? Why does anyone want to participate in those life-threatening acts? Never been able to understand why some people are always doing and doing and doing things? Can you imagine the emotions, thoughts, and body sensations that run through a person who cannot tolerate mistakes? Do you feel that nobody really understands you? Have you ever wondered how some people can always say yes to others? Have you ever felt intimidated by some people even though they aren't doing anything to you? Frustrated with people who are very stingy with their words? Find it difficult to take some people seriously?
Alfred Adler, one of the great psychodynamic thinkers of the last century (next to Sigmund Freud and Carl Gustav Jung), stated that all problems are interpersonal relationship problems and there will always be such problems unless you are the only one left in the universe. Our brains are hardwired to solve problems constantly and the obvious solution to interpersonal relationship problems is through the understanding of the human psyche. Deciphering and predicting human behaviour is easily one of the most intriguing interests of human beings. The Enneagram of Personality is a map that describes nine distinct and fundamentally different patterns of thinking, feeling, and behaving. Behaviour is a complex result of our instincts, emotions, and thoughts. The Enneagram provides insights into our type-based perspectives, beliefs, mental habits, emotional habits, focuses of attention, dominant defence mechanisms, and avoidances to facilitate our understanding of the human psyche. The insights from this book can help to provide us with some reasons why we or others behave in a certain way to certain stimuli. Hence, getting ourselves acquainted with the Enneagram is surely one of the solutions to all our problems!
This book is specially made for those who are curious about the Enneagram and love to read pictures. It attempts to help those who want to explore all sides of their psyche in a more lighthearted way. People who are keen on acquiring knowledge in psychology, healing, self-development, relationship management, and spiritual growth should take a good look at this resource!
