Until now.
Amara Cole is the most feared criminal defense attorney in New York City. Razor sharp, relentless, and completely untouchable, she has built a career on the one thing she swore she would always protect. The truth. What no one in that courtroom knows, what no one in her carefully constructed world has ever been allowed to know, is that the most brilliant defender of justice in the city is living inside a lie she buried ten years ago for the only man who ever made her forget every principle she stood for.
She does not regret it.
She should.
When a young graduate student named Marcus Webb is charged with the murder of a prominent Manhattan federal judge, Amara takes the case without hesitation. It looks like a setup. It smells like a conspiracy. And then she opens the crime scene file and finds three letters scratched into a window frame that stop her cold, turn her blood to ice, and drag her back to a rainy October night she has spent a decade trying to forget.
She has seen those letters before.
She helped make sure no one else ever would.
Now the man she sacrificed everything for is standing in her office doorway after ten years of silence, older and haunted and carrying a secret that rewrites everything she thought she understood about the night she chose him over the law. A ruthless network of judges, politicians and power brokers is closing in from every direction. A detective who asks questions like a man who already knows the answers is circling closer every day. And somewhere at the center of it all, an innocent man is running out of time in a cell he should never have been put in.
Amara must choose.
Expose the truth and watch everything she built crumble to the ground. Or stay silent and let the conspiracy win again.
But here is what the people coming for her do not yet understand.
Amara Cole has never walked out of a courtroom without a verdict in her favor.
She is not about to start now.
Propulsive, emotionally devastating and impossible to put down, "The Trial of Time" is the thriller that will keep you reading through the night, rob you of sleep, and leave you thinking about it long after the final page. This is not just a story about justice. It is a story about what love costs when the bill finally comes due.
Some secrets protect us. Some secrets define us. And some secrets, no matter how deeply we bury them, were always going to find their way back to the light.
The only question is whether you are ready when they do.
