The government of the day decided to put the publishers, Penguin Books, on trial under the Obscene Publications Act of 1959. These 250 pages are an edited transcript of that trial - INCLUDING arguments for the defence, for the prosecution, witnesses statements and the jury's decision. Decorative b/w drawings of the courtroom by Hogarth. Cond : Green and white paper wrapper with a front cover graphic of a blind-folded penguin holding the scales of justice. Spine sli. yellowed but corners and edges are sharp. Colours bright, binding tight. No tears, creases, folds, names nor marks. Giftable !
