This 8.75 x 11.25 inch, unpaginated hardcover book is a 1942 first edition but not a first printing copy of this title. The book is in fine condition in a near fine dust jacket. This copy features the light green cloth covers with black titling and tree design on the front panel of the book. The 1942 date does not appear on the title page. The dust jacket shows a tear on the front panel and a bit of wear at the edges and folds ? and features a full panel advertisement for Paddle-to-the-Sea on the rear, and a brief bio on Holling. The jacket price has been clipped. A beautiful copy of this book featuring Holling?s fabulous full color illustrations and supporting black-and-white descriptive sketchings on the page margins.
