Within city of High Castle, honor and love will wage a silent war in the hearts of men. As a devoted knight embodying loyalty and duty, Sir Ahmad’s life is pledged in service to the high prince. Yet, beneath his stoic exterior, a tempest brews—one ignited by loss and yearning. Driven away by fear that Lady Idra’s heart belongs to a dead man, Sir Ahmad buries his brokenness beneath responsibility.
Lady Idra, frustrated by Ahmad’s emotional retreat, is desperate to make him see her heart. When a new friend asks her to speak to Sir Ahmad on his behalf, she jumps at the chance but finds herself caught up in a compelling and dangerous intrigue beyond imagination. Not wanting to endanger anyone else, especially the man she loves, she sets out to make things right on her own but soon discovers she’s no safer than the ones she wishes to protect.
Sir Florian, a trusted knight and close friend of Ahmad, is dragged into a labyrinth of ruthless betrayal that Lady Idra has stumbled upon. When the very people he should be able to rely on exploit his biggest weakness to coerce his cooperation in a sinister plot against the high king, he is left with a devastating choice: give up his sister’s life or betray his sworn oaths.
In The Treasonous, loyalty is tested and sacrifices must be made. Heart-wrenching choices and unimaginable consequences threaten to bury all three. The line between friend and foe blurs, but the stakes are nothing less than the future of the kingdom. Settle into this tale of love and deception and discover how far an honorable soul will rise or fall for love.
