Heroes save the world.
They just don't survive falling in love.
I kissed my best friend once.
Correction. He kissed me.
One reckless, electric mistake we immediately blamed on bad judgment and swore would never happen again, because best friends don't kiss.
We lied.
After that, reality filed a complaint. We swapped bodies. I laughed at a funeral. Got banned from places I didn't even know existed. I might have accidentally killed a stranger for having a crush on me, which feels rude in hindsight.
A fairy tried to tie our fates together while the world worked overtime to tear us apart.
The world won.
He buried secrets to protect me. The moment I uncovered them, I lost everything. My future. My identity. Even myself. Even him. He gave himself up to save me, and everyone called it heroism.
I call it theft.
Now I'm left wondering if I was worth the sacrifice. If love is supposed to feel like survival. If saving the world always costs this much.
Romantasy tangled with comedy, drama, thriller, and sci-fi collide in a story about friendship, betrayal, sacrifice, death and a kiss that should have never happened... but changed everything.
I was meant to be alone.
The universe just made sure I understood it. Because some heroes fall in battle, some fall in love. And that's the more dangerous war.
