ENGLISH DESCRIPTION
A comprehensive perspective on freeing ourselves from emotional pain and healing our wounds.
This is an important book because it encourages you to empower yourself through trauma. It will teach you to learn from your life experiences in order to thrive--not just survive--despite the challenges that may arise.
Imagine, so to speak, a disease that, without any noticeable external symptoms, can take over your entire body without warning. A disease that can be easily passed from parents to children; one that could last a lifetime if left untreated. According to Dr. Paul Conti, this is how society should conceptualize trauma: as an out-of-control epidemic with a potentially fatal prognosis if not properly understood and treated.
In Trauma: The Invisible Epidemic, renowned psychiatrist Dr. Paul Conti draws on the latest research to explain why trauma occurs, how it manifests in the body, and what we can do to overcome it. He introduces the three most common types of trauma we face and provides a unique set of exercises and practical advice, accessible to anyone, to help you recognize the signs of trauma, heal past wounds, and find the path to recovery.
