In From Trauma to Enlightenment: The Four Steps to Unconditional Self-Acceptance, world-renowned psychologist and hypnotherapist Dr. Brian Alman, with contributions and endorsement by Dr. Vincent Felitti of the groundbreaking ACE Study, presents a transformative guide for navigating the profound impact of past trauma towards a life of authentic freedom and unconditional self-acceptance. The manuscript meticulously outlines four essential steps: Awareness, where readers uncover hidden emotional patterns and stories using insightful tools like the ACE and PCE assessments and the unique "Going to the Movies" exercise; Understanding, which involves a deep, compassionate exploration of individual trauma responses and the coping mechanisms developed over time; Release, a powerful process dedicated to letting go of outdated beliefs, ingrained behaviors, and the physiological imprints of trauma; and finally, Integration, where new insights are woven into daily life, fostering sustained resilience and well-being. This comprehensive approach empowers readers to recognize how their past has shaped them without letting it define their future.
Drawing upon decades of clinical experience and the foundational insights of the ACE Study, Dr. Alman offers practical exercises and clinically proven techniques designed to help both survivors and mental health professionals. The book emphasizes that while trauma leaves undeniable imprints, it does not have to be a life sentence. By providing a clear framework for self-discovery and healing, From Trauma to Enlightenment equips individuals with the tools to transform their relationship with their past, cultivate self-compassion, and embrace a life free from the pervasive grip of unresolved trauma. It’s a journey from introspection to liberation, enabling readers to step into a future defined by peace, authenticity, and profound self-acceptance.
Dr. Brian Alman, Ph.D. is a globally sought-after mind–body psychologist, author, and co-developer of the ACE (Adverse Childhood Experiences) Treatment Solution, a clinically validated framework for healing trauma rooted in subconscious integration. Professionally mentored by the legendary Milton H. His clientele spans everyone from everyday individuals to A-list celebrities and high-performing leaders.
Recognized by thought leaders including Deepak Chopra and marketing strategist John Assaraf, who calls him “one of the leading mind experts in the world.” Dr. Alman’s approach blends clinical efficacy with compassionate accessibility. Today, his Enlightn app delivers ACE-informed therapeutic protocols via mobile, while True Sage provides self-paced programs, executive workshops, and institutional partnerships (with clients like Apple, P&G, and the NFL) to bring trauma-informed transformation to workplaces and global audiences.
