This 7.25 x 10.75 inch, 325 page hardcover book with slipcase is the 1941 edition of this title from Alfred A. Knopf, and illustrated by Cyrus Le Roy Baldridge. The book itself is in fine condition with the slipcase as very good. The book is a beautiful copy with its bright orange cloth covers with black illustrative front design and black simulated paper spine label in near flawless condition. The only real condition issue to mention with the book outside and in is a touch of black smudging to the lower front cover of the book. Beyond that the book has no condition issues to mention. The pages are clean, the corners sharp, and the illustrations striking in their depiction of Chinese livelihood and philosophy. Numerous illustrations are in full page and in color, and others are of a soft black-and-white partial-page depiction. The book itself shows no handling wear. The slipcase does show rubbing to the slick, black paper covering and the paper label on the slipcase spine is fully intact and unworn. There is again rubbing to the slipcase and the paper has worn through at the top front corner but only in a small exposure. 325 pages. Seller Inventory # 1505-592
