Hardcover. As student persistence remains a pressing challenge in higher education, institutions must look beyond traditional retention strategies to better understand the factors that influence student success. Persistence is shaped not only by students' individual circumstances but also by the quality of the learning environments colleges and universities create. Effective pedagogy, meaningful assessment, and inclusive practices play a critical role in strengthening academic engagement, confidence, and a sense of belonging. By designing learning experiences that address diverse needs, provide timely and actionable feedback, and promote equitable opportunities for achievement, institutions can help students overcome barriers and remain on track toward their educational goals. Advancing student persistence requires a holistic approach that supports both academic development and student well-being throughout the educational journey. Transforming Student Persistence in Higher Education: Pedagogy, Assessment, and Inclusivity explores how effective teaching practices, meaningful assessment, and inclusive learning environments can enhance student engagement, belonging, and persistence in higher education. It examines evidence-based strategies that educators and institutions can use to reduce barriers to success, respond to diverse student needs, and foster supportive academic experiences that promote retention, achievement, and degree completion. Covering topics such as experiential learning, teacher education, and student retention, this book is a valuable resource for educators, curriculum developers, higher education administrators, academicians, researchers, and scholars.
