Volume 1: Strategy, Leadership, and the Digital Workforce
Unlock the Future of Pharma—One Strategic Challenge at a Time.
The pharmaceutical industry stands at a pivotal crossroads. While rigorous scientific discovery and strict regulatory compliance remain the bedrock of global health, the relentless advance of digital technology demands a complete re-imagination of the enterprise. Yet, data shows that 70% of digital transformation initiatives fail—not because of the technology, but due to cultural resistance, structural silos, and a lack of clear strategic direction.
In this definitive, newly restructured edition of the industry benchmark Transforming Pharma, authors Dr. Jayant Joshi and Umesh Naik break down the massive blueprint of digitalization into highly focused, actionable volumes.
Volume 1: Strategy, Leadership, and the Digital Workforce is crafted specifically for C-suite executives, strategy teams, and HR leaders who must spearhead this profound organizational shift. It serves as an executive playbook to bridge the gap between abstract corporate vision and on-the-ground execution.
What This Volume Covers
This book meticulously analyzes 28 critical challenges across four core pillars of organizational transformation using a practical, real-world lens:
- Part I: Foundation of Digital Transformation – Discover how to conduct honest digital maturity assessments, build unwavering executive commitment, create cross-functional alignment, and construct robust digital governance frameworks.
- Business Strategies for Digital Transformation – Learn to develop service-oriented digital business models, construct bulletproof value propositions for digital health solutions, prioritize high-ROI technology investments, and outmaneuver new digital entrants.
- Part II: Human Resources & Workforce Transformation – Bridge the digital skills gap, design highly effective upskilling and reskilling programs, manage organizational change resistance, and develop transformational leadership for the digital age.
- Part III: Strategic Implementation – Blueprint your technology architecture, smoothly manage legacy system integration, choose the right technology partners, and implement a quantified performance measurement framework.
Every single challenge in this volume is systematically unpacked using the proven People, Process, and Technologymatrix:
- People: Building digital literacy, cultivating alignment, and shifting mindsets.
- Process: Redesigning legacy workflows to match agile, data-driven, and compliant models.
- Technology: Designing scalable, secure, and compliant technical architectures.

Store description
**Please note our transit times are from the date of dispatch.** We first started out as “The Paperback Exchange,” a chain of physical bookstores where we would part exchange your beloved books for new stories to transport you to faraway places. However, as shopping started to evolve to online shops and marketplaces, we bid our stores goodbye to become “PBShop.” This transition has only allowed us to blossom as we now ship thousands of titles to book lovers across the globe. We pride ourselves in being a community of local book lovers which allows our passion and devotion to shine in everything we do. In 2020 we not only celebrated our 20th birthday but our 1st birthday as being completely employee owned after becoming an E.O.T in September 2019. We are proud to be different and embrace standing apart on a book mountain by working from a virtual inventory which allows us to provide thousands of books that may be difficult to get for your bookshelf or your studies. Working with a number of different suppliers allows us to explore other avenues such as puzzles, sheet music and even stationery so we really do have something for everyone. Life is about being versatile in all realms of existence. If this is your first purchase with us, or you are a returning customer, we would like to welcome you to the PBShop family, for there is no friend as loyal as a book. We are a company who put our customers at the centre of everything we do as we understand the importance of reading because once you learn to read, you will forever be free. There are a whole lot of things in this world of ours that we are yet to explore, which is why we will forever inspire curious minds.…
