Item description from seller

pp. 95-118. From the library of Prof. Wolfgang Haase, long-time editor of the ANRW and the International Journal of the Classical Tradition (IJCT). - Cover light-margined, otherwise clean. - From the text: The fundamental task in the regulation of international economic relations since the nineteen-sixties has been to reduce the North-South gap. The seventies were dominated by the developing countries vision of a New International Economic Order, which in some sectors of cross-border economics and politics is still alive at the present day and seeks to complement decentralized market mechanisms, which are closely related to the principle of the equality of states, by international planning and universal centralization. Disadvantages allegedly stemming (inter alia) from colonialism should in their view be compensated for. All in all a more even, common sharing of the economic heritage of mankind should be achieved, among other ways by enabling the South to participate in modern technology. UNCTAD III and IV (in 1972 and 1976 respectively) and the 6th and 7th Special Sessions of the UN General Assembly in 1974 and 1975 made the importance of technological progress for the development of the South a central theme of the North-South dialogue. - Wikipedia: Wolfgang Nikolaus Graf Vitzthum von Eckstädt (* 22. November 1941 in Breslau) ist ein deutscher Rechtswissenschaftler. Sprache: Englisch Gewicht in Gramm: 550.
