What happens when a young successful dentist, soaring to new heights in his career, learns that he has cancer days after his fortieth birthday? Will he be transfixed, torpedoed, or transformed? It's a challenge faced by every cancer patient. Courage brings with it the potential for transformation on many levels. For some, a charred, black landscape can grow into a spring of promise, and ordinary people become extraordinary heroes. In this book, you'll discover how a brave group of individuals participated in a charity drive that raised thousands of dollars for the Australian Cancer Council. Ned, the young dentist who drove the Customs4Cancer project, is in the driver's seat. He's joined by numerous passengers, including a nurse with nine lives who lost her husband and his brothers in a horrific light plane crash, a pancreatic cancer survivor who travels the world, and a man suspended on a crane above the Sydney Opera house. Told with an authenticity that is compelling and inspirational but never without humor, these life episodes are recounted with the sole purpose of passing on the torch of hope to all who fight cancer. 70% of the proceeds of book sales will go to the Australian Cancer Council.
