Item description from seller

Scarce paperback published in a limited edition of 1000 copies, 271 pages, NOT ex-library. Good copy with bright, clean, untanned pages and unmarked text; firm binding, wear to tips of corners. Cover shows shelfworn and faint grubby marks, a bit of creasing and scuffing to edges, a light indentation to front panel. Spine straight, free of vertical creases, showing rubbed upper and lower edges, one small superficial cosmetic tear (minor). --- "Our small Nordic states are under pressure from the forces of globalization. Working together, and learning from each other - through trans-national institutions supporting cosmopolitan communities of researchers and policy-makers - is an increasingly important strategy for improving national and regional policies. A common denominator in much of the work done within the contemporary field of trans-national policy making is the application of various forms of 'systems thinking'. This topic is emerging in areas such as trans-national comparisons, the analysis of innovation systems, local labour markets, environmental systems, and in various forms of evaluations. Different types of 'systems thinking' are addressed in this anthology, which is the outcome of a joint effort by a multidisciplinary group of researchers at The Nordic Centre for Spatial Development (Nordregio) in Stockholm.".
