Paperback. Few books have captured the real New England life so poignantly as the Tranquillity stories of Colonel Harold P. Sheldon. Tranquillity, Tranquillity Revisited and Tranquillity Restored rank as the classic description of not just hunting, but a sporting way of life in the town of Tranquillity (based on Fair Haven, Vermont). Tranquillity is the fictional name of that special township that lies peacefully spread over the fertile valley of western Vermont. It is a place where there are but two seasons, hunting and fishing, and where time has dealt gently with the countryside and its inhabitants, inhabitants like the Judge, the Doctor, Uncle Bill Paraday, the Captain and his Dark-Haired Lady, and all their friends, kindly, humorous, tolerant, loyal and brave. Fans of sporting and nature will laugh and wryly smile at this classic trilogy that has been a favorite for over 75 years. This item is printed on demand.
