Elle est identique à la première parue en 1834 ; seul le titre diffère légèrement. 2 grandes planches dépliantes lithographiées représentant les différents instruments imaginés par l'auteur, utilisées au cours de ses interventions chirurgicales pratiquées sur les organes de la voix. Parmi les différents chapitres on note plus particulièrement ceux consacrés au mécanisme de la voix, au faucet ou voix pharyngienne, aux aphonies et dysphonies symptomatiques. Fondateur de l'Institut orthophonique, Marc Colombat de l'Isère (1797-1851) s'est surtout occupé des questions physiologiques, médicales et hygiéniques des organes de la voix ainsi que du problème du bégaiement. Il reprit l'idée de Voisin selon laquelle la cause de cette "infirmité" ne serait pas due à une malformation des organes vocaux. Sa méthode consistait a chercher le rétablissement de la fonction qui manquait entre l'agent nerveux instigateur de la parole et les organes chargés de la transmettre. Ex-libris de Jean Rouché.
