- Book 3 of 5: Bark to Basics: Master the art of puppy training and all things dogs
From pint-sized puppy to confident canine: how to raise a healthy, happy, and well-behaved German Shepherd.
Are you planning to welcome a new dog but are still unsure about which breed to get? Have you always admired German Shepherds but are hesitant because of their aggressive image? Or maybe you've been given a German Shepherd puppy, and you have no idea what to do with it?
The German Shepherd is a popular and highly in-demand dog breed... and for good reason. They're intelligent, loyal, energetic, playful, and protective of their owners, making them great companions.
They're also extremely hardworking and versatile and can be trained to do almost anything - including sports, rescue, therapy, scent work, and guide dog work.
But no matter how amazing this breed is, your dog won't come to you all well-behaved and obedient.
Before they can start sitting down or rolling over on command, you need to first start with the basics, such as potty training and learning to socialize. And you'll need to know their unique needs so you can care for them properly. Fortunately, there's no need for you to second guess your German Shepherd's necessities.
Everything you'll need to know - from bringing your puppy home to communicating with them - you can find in this info-packed guide to owning and caring for German Shepherds.
In Training Guide For New German Shepherd Owners, here is just a fraction of what you will discover:
- 5 need-to-know facts about German Shepherds that will help you understand these special creatures
- Why German Shepherds are one of the most widely used breeds in the world - how they help in law enforcement, rescue work, and the military
- A simple trick to use when bringing your puppy home that will ease the adjustment of moving to a new place
- Why you shouldn't shave off your dog's substantial coat of hair - and what you can do about their heavy shedding instead
- Potty training pointers that will save you from headaches (and lots of cleanups) - plus the must-have item that will make house-training your puppy much easier
- The latest training techniques that take special consideration to a German Shepherd's unique needs and characteristics
- How much food, sleep, exercise, and baths your furry friend should be getting to ensure optimum health
- How to get your dog to behave when interacting with you, other people, and other dogs
- Heroic German Shepherds who have saved lives, provided life-changing support, and even starred in Hollywood films!
And much more.
While it can be a difficult transition at the start, having your own German Shepherd means you'll have a loyal and constant companion to share memorable moments with.
Whether you're looking for a faithful friend, a fierce protector, or a fun playmate, a German Shepherd will be all these for you and your family.
Get ready - you're in for one of the most rewarding relationships of your life!
