Exciting new titles in the brilliantly original TOUCHWORDS series. Tactile word + tactile object = KNOWLEDGE! Touch, together with sight and sound, form the three essential components of TouchWords: My Day through which children experience and learn about the world. TOUCHWORDS celebrates what the best educators already know: allowing a child to trace the raised letters of a simple word and then trace its corresponding object fosters critical early reading and language skills. Rilla Alexander’s high impact but always whimsical images of the activities, tools, and toys a child encounters everyday are the perfect match to accompany the individually die cut letters of the label. There’s a bonus of related fun-to-use 'conversation starter' words to encourage a playful exploration of more complex language and sentences.

Rilla Alexander is an Australian designer and illustrator whose work has appeared on everything from toys and tea cups to busses and buildings. She designed the children's products for Madrid's Museo del Prado, teaches Character Design at the Pictoplasma Academy in Berlin and her work has been showcased at Paris's cultural mecca Colette and at the Musée de la Publicité/Louvre. Her books celebrate creativity, reading, making, and doing. She currently lives in South Pasadena, California.
