Despite its deep, wide-ranging roots, RAM Healing is simple, accessible and effective. It can be learned quickly and practiced immediately by anyone, both as a healing modality and as a dynamic pathway to radiant health, authentic empowerment, and Self-awakening. Heyes likens the learning curve to Chess: You can learn the moves in an hour and spend a lifetime mastering the game, Heyes writes, When we first start doing this work, we tend to do a lot to achieve minimal results. As we advance, we find ourselves doing less and less to achieve more and more. Finally, as we become masters, we achieve our most dramatic results by doing nothing at all.
THE TOUCH is much more than a teaching guide. Its heartbeat comes through in Heyes inspiring tales from the trail, milestones on his amazing trek down the path of light, stories of remarkable healings including his own that changed his life forever. The soul of the book is here, in the real-life demonstrations which illustrate and underscore the practice, connecting us experientially to the Source of these powerful teachings.
Heyes writes with a clear, rhythmic, evocative style that seems to carry the reader along on those same waves of energy hes writing about. THE TOUCH is a cool, enlivening read with a smart system and a wonderful message: The power to heal is in all of us. It is a divine birthright of all human beings. Now get out there and practice!
-----
Writer. Healer. Rescuer. Teacher. Just a guy doing his work.
In 2000, while working as a National Ski Patroller in Southern California (where he has served for two decades and led hundreds of rescues) Heyes sustained a massive spinal cord injury from which he was initially paralyzed from the neck down, unable to move, feel, or breathe. The story of his remarkable some would say miraculous healing set the stage for THE TOUCH, awakened him to his own healing gifts and set touched off his total immersion in the healing arts a journey which took him through a lineage of masters and teachers from various traditions, and back to school, where he graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Psychology (UCLA, 2007) and a Masters Degree in Spiritual Psychology (University of Santa Monica, 2012).
Since receiving his Masters, Heyes has devoted himself to developing his private practice in Spiritual Psychology, Transformational Coaching and RAM Healing. He facilitathas also created an intensive workshop AWAKEN YOUR INNER HEALER in which he teaches the skills presented in THE TOUCH which now becomes required reading for his students. Heyes has also worked as a co-facilitator at Bhaktifest with Michael Brian Baker and The Breath Center. This year, Doug will be taking his new two-day AWAKEN workshop to Honolulu, Hawaii as a kickoff to his upcoming nine-city workshop tour.
Heyes was a featured speaker at the controversial Ex-Ted-x Talks at the Vortex Immersion Dome in Los Angeles in 2013, beside Larry Dossey, Marianne Williamson, Russell Targ and Daphne Rose Kingma. He has been a guest on John Stephensons national, Chicago-based radio show, Thresholds Into Other Realms, and a keynote speaker before the International Association of Near-Death Studies at Unity Church in Tustin, California. Besides his extensive credits in television, his award-winning play and his Chicken Soup feature, Heyes has written health-and-wellness features for the Topanga Messenger and Radiance Magazine, as well as front-page features for the recovery-based online journal TheFix.com, published by Jay Levin, creator of the Village Voice and the L.A. Weekly.
Heyes is an avid outdoorsman, skier, whitewater kayaker, martial artist and long-distance athlete. Since his astonishing recovery, Heyes has competed in numerous endurance a nd multi-sport challenges as celebrations of health and opportunities for charitable fundraising. These events have included marathons, century rides, triathlons, mountain multisport events such as the gutbusting Conquer The Bear Series (Snowshoeing, Lake Kayaking, Mountain Biking, Mountain Triathlon and the Big Bear Lake Marathon) and such classics as the MS150 Bike Tour 150 miles in 2 days for Multiple Sclerosis and the grueling Peak-to-Peak Pedal 335 miles between Big Bear Lake and Mammoth Mountain, California for the United States Adaptive Recreation Center. A seasoned Emergency Medical Technician ski patroller and outdoor rescue instructor, Heyes also holds a Red Belt in Pyong An Do Wan (Peaceful Mind Way) Kung Fu and has served as a training instructor for the American Academy of Martial Arts.
