xxiii, 79, [23] p. 46 cm. Coat of arms vignette on title page, 41 pages of tinted maps, followed by 9 pages of illustrations. Rebound in brown leather by Keith Felton of Georgetown, preserving original brown cloth boards. Gold print and trim. Some spotting, chipping and fading to cloth. Foxing to original endpapers and some stains and thumbing throughout. Small chips and tears to page edges. Repaired edge to p. 3. "Compiled and Drawn from the most Recent Surveys of Townships and Villages, Public Records, and Other Reliable Sources of Information, Under the Direction of the Publishers. By Wadsworth, Unwin & Brown, P.L.S., Toronto. To which is added a map of the Dominion, by counties, a new railway and postal map of Ontario, a geological map of Ontario, a map of Toronto, and a historical and statistical letter-press description of the county, with a directory of the inhabitants, etc., etc." An original Oxford County atlas, printed at a time when the county has 48 named post offices, Lakeside is "quite a resort," and Bright, Ratho, and Chesterfield are "lively villages." Sections include population tables, a name directory, the atlas itself, and a rear illustrated section that portrays the publishing house of Walker & Miles among other businesses.
