Paperback. This is a wonderfully rich and colorful story! Toodie & Roodie, the food-loving twins, are not only fascinated by the delicious food of New Orleans, but they also embark on an adventure to learn about the origins of their favorite dishes. Through a magical dream with their Abuelo and Grandmama, they discover New Orleans food's deep and diverse history, which is a blend of the different groups that shaped New Orleans' cuisine, from the Indigenous nations who introduced local ingredients like crawfish and okra, to the West Africans who contributed gumbo, to the Creoles, Vietnamese, and even the Sicilians, each leaving their mark on the city's culinary traditions. It's a lovely tale celebrating the joy of eating and the power of storytelling and tradition. The vibrant cultural fusion is depicted so beautifully that it inspires curiosity about food and history in an accessible, enjoyable way. This item is printed on demand.
