Do you remember the night Australian television began? It was 7 pm on 16 September 1956, and a young man in a dinner suit looked into a camera and said: "Good evening, and welcome to television." Within weeks, families across the country were crowding around the new set in the corner — and nothing was ever quite the same again. Tonight! is a giant print trivia book celebrating the golden age of Australian television, from that first broadcast in 1956 to the arrival of colour in March 1975. All 125 questions are drawn from a remarkable era: Graham Kennedy and In Melbourne Tonight, the Gold Logies, Homicide and Crawford Productions, Louie the Fly, Skippy the Bush Kangaroo, Bandstand, Bellbird, Number 96, Young Talent Time, Hey Hey It's Saturday, C-Day, and much more. Inside this book:

• 125 multiple-choice questions printed in large, comfortable type
• Four answer options per question — plus the correct answer with a full historical explanation on the reverse page
• A dedicated Score Tracker to keep count across multiple sessions
• Questions from warm and accessible through to genuinely expert — something for every level of knowledge

Written for Australians who were there. Every question is fact-checked and every explanation is written to trigger genuine reminiscence — not just to confirm an answer, but to bring back the warmth of those evenings gathered around the set. Perfect for solo reading, or as a shared activity with friends and family. Great Australian Nostalgia Quiz Collection — Book 2 Also available: Milk Bar Memories — Book 1 in the series.
