1901 HARDCOVER EDITION, sewn-bound in decorative red cloth, is in FAIR condition, having spine gilt, ochre and blue color somewhat faded; staining to front and back covers (see photos); corners bumped and worn; former owner's name written in pencil at top of first free endpaper, with different penciled name written on reverse of frontispiece, along with a long-ago bookseller notation: "1901-1st ed." and old price, also in pencil (whether this is an actual first edition is not verified, as there are a few 1901 editions with different cover coloring); some shaking to volume noted in gutter-crack between frontispiece illustration and title-page; last free endpaper has a piece of vertical edge torn away; some moderate creasing and handling wear to some pages. Book is not officially credited with an illustrator, but there are many illustrated b&w plates where the name "J. Greville Wilmot" can be barely seen at bottom of each. A romance novel set in Bermuda. Fiction. Novel. United States. Early 20th century. DB[6]. …
