The Toastmaster is a captivating story of the triumphs and struggles of ordinary people. Medicine Bow, Texas is emblematic of the extraordinary nature of success and failure that can be found within most any community in America. It is a story of love, loyalty and survival.
Reviews
“I raise my glass to The Toast Master, a book about small town folks that conquer adversity and hardship with the loving force of family and community. Troy, the Toastmaster is saved from death because he belongs to a family who finds ways together to conquer what seems to be insurmountable problems including dangerous criminals. The family revealed in the novel starts with Troy who find life impossible to face day to day and ends with his son preparing for a run in the Olympics. This family face mental illness, cancer and FBI investigation with the help of family and community. Get ready to see what love can do when each family member takes on the challenges together. This community accepts no one is perfect but all deserve love and support because they belong to a community that others want to call home.”
- Mary Pint
“When I finished the book I was surprised at how often I would think of it and the story line. Everything blended together until the very end and it compelled me to ask "what the heck happened and why didn't I expect it to happen"? I have no problem giving this book the "five stars rating" that it deserves!”
- Dodie Hunker
“Loved the book! Took a little bit for the chararcters to develop but one they did wow! What will happen with Troy? How will this all play out? Great read!”
- Travis
“The Toastmaster is a great read ! It's fun because it reminds you about areas around Denver and Texas of yesteryear. It also keeps you reading trying to figure out the mystery. I absolutely loved the way The Toastmaster ended. Some writers seem to be in a rush just to complete their book, but Dan Peavler took his time in letting the plot play out and even allowed us a look several years later. You won't be sorry you picked up this book !”
- Glenda Shannon
“I loved this book! Dan has an easy to read, down to earth voice. I couldn't put the book down as the story drew me into the lives and mystery of the characters. It's a unique, real time, real people adventure.”
- Terry McCullough
