Paperback. Twenty historical teenage geniuses have been captured to solve a riddle that may save the 23rd century from its own destruction. At the age of seventeen, Cindy Sanders writes the equation for the first operational time machine, earning her a spot on the genius list - a compilation of historical teenage science and military prodigies. Cindy's life is forever changed when Empress Zelda of the year 2242 activates the genius list in an effort to prevent a catastrophe that could impact the future of the Acendia Empire. Cindy is seized, removed from her own time, and placed in an experiment alongside other geniuses plucked from various time periods. Now faced with a decision, Cindy must choose between being a mere lab subject or joining forces with the other geniuses in a rebellion that could have far-reaching consequences throughout history. My name is Cindy Sanders, and I am many things: a seventeen-year-old who would rather not move if she doesn’t have to, a girl with an IQ over 180, and apparently, the future mother of time travel itself. That last part is what landed me here. Somewhere between giving the world its first time machine and being blamed for a war I never knew existed—the Time Travel Wars—I earned a spot on Empress Zelda’s Genius List: the top twenty teenage minds in all of Earth’s history.
I didn’t know any of this until the day I was taken. Pulled from 2026 and dropped into the 23rd century, I found myself locked inside an inescapable dome alongside nineteen other teenagers—geniuses ripped from their own timelines.
Why? Because the 23rd century is running out of time, and Zelda is running out of options. To earn our way home, we have to solve her challenges: time travel modules, IQ tests, survival scenarios. Simple enough, except that some of my fellow geniuses once conquered entire civilizations. And not all of us are going to make it out.
