After her husband is killed, she steps into his campaign for the Senate and is elected. On the eve of a crucial senate vote, her past and public worlds collide when her former lover, now a journalist with strong right-wing connections, gives her sensitive documents that could either make or break her career. From the hide-aways in the U.S. Capitol to the sprawling ranches of Orange County and the streets of Berkeley, this is a fascinating, up-close story of power and trust.
