Fictionalized autobiography of Wolfe, which he described as "a legend of man's hunger in his youth,'' in 912 pages. Orig. published in 1935 by Scribner's, this is the first printing from the Sun Dial Press from 1944 (First, thus). With green cloth-covered boards & gilt title to front & spine, this hardcover book is in Good condition: generally clean, binding secure, but front hinge is cracking. Moderate tanning, heavier around edges, with foxing to external fore edge pages, but completely unmarked save for rubbing & slight dampstain to same edge. The price-clipped DJ is also only Good, with minor chips & creases, slight spine fade, edgewear; nicely protected in mylar by original owner.
