Hardcover very Scarce Signed to Micheala by Dennis Heally he invigorating memoirs of a leading politican, this book is also the autobiography of a splendid Englishman who is liked and admired across the political spectrum. Denis Healey was born in a year of revolution, 1917. Hew grew up in Yorkshire and at Oxford began to test and expand his political views. As the title suggests, this book is more than a political memoir. Denis Healey has witnessed the great changes that have taken place in Britian since the war, and often taken a decisive hand in them. From Atlee and Bevan through to Mrs. Thatcher it has not only been the political landscape that has been transformed as town and country bore witness to the great social, technological, and demographic revolutions. Denis Healey's wide-ranging intelligence brilliantly counterpoints the pace of change and ranges further, into literature, art, music, and his speciality, photography. The memoirs of a man in the round; a great politician, speaker, writer, and above all friend and family man, this book will inspire all who read it with the warmth, wit and wisdom of Denis Healey. Illustrated. 607 pages. (We carry a wide selection of titles in The Arts, Theology, History, Politics, Social and Physical Sciences. Academic, Scholarly books and Modern First Editions etc.). …
