Review
"Every page offers a sound plan of action..."
Couples learn useful procedures to enrich their marriage. A well-written book.
Dr. David Olson, Professor of Family Relations, University of Minnesota"
This is the one: a masterful distillation of wisdom about marriage, its mysteries and its discontents. "Time for a Better Marriage" is simple, straight and illustrated by cartoons that cut right to the heart of the matter. It leaves no possible confusion about how (and why) to make marriage work.
Frank Pittman, III, MD, author, "Grow Up! How Taking Responsibility Can Make You a Happy Adult""
If you think marriages don't come with instructions, think again. "Time for a Better Marriage" takes the guesswork out of having a loving and lasting relationship. Its simple-to-follow, step-by-step format walks you through the sometimes baffling process of avoiding predictable relationship pitfalls and building real closeness and connection to your spouse. This is a must read.
Michele Weiner-Davis, author, "The Divorce Remedy" and "The Sex-Starved Marriage""
Jon Carlson and Don Dinkmeyer have written a wise and compassionate guide packed with instantly relevant questions and effective exercises for improving communication, resolving conflict, and staying attuned to healthy marriage goals. Every page offers a sound plan of action for creating and sustaining a lifelong, intimate, equal partnership.
John Gray, PhD, author, "Man are From Mars, Women are From Venus""
Practical, clearly written, and wise workbook that is sure to help couples learn the skills, attitudes, and behaviors necessary for a successful and lasting marriage relationship.
Jack Canfield, co-author, "Chicken Soup for the Soul""
Best material I've seen yet.
Rev. Conrad A. Braaten, Boca Raton, FL"
This book is clear and practical. It provides not just information but plenty of things to do and the motivation to do them. A good book that is much needed.
Pat Love, EdD, author, "The Truth About Love & Hot Monogamy""
The implicit message of "Time for a Better Marriage" is that a better marriage takes time an often ignored reality and specific skills an often resisted reality, and that over time, if couples make the commitment, they can make changes that will restore feelings of love and caring. This is a challenging and hopeful message. The authors provide a cornucopia of information, skills, exercises and charts that will help any dedicated couple create a better marriage. I recommend it to all couples and encourage them to use it as a daily guide.
Harville Hendrix, PhD, founder, Institute for Imago Relationship Therapy, author, "Getting the Love You Want: A Guide for Couples""
A very good book, very much needed.
Dr. David Mace, founder, Association of Couples for Marriage Enrichment"
This no-nonsense book is based on the premise that if you want a better marital relationship it is up to you to do something about it. The authors then provide couples with a practical and helpful guide for doing just that. The unique questionnaires, charts, exercises, evaluations, and scales provide clear directions for understanding and improving every aspect of marriage. They can be put into immediate practice and promise positive and lasting results. Should be read by any couple wishing to improve their relationship.
Peggy Papp, MSW, Director of Depression Program, Ackerman Family Institute; author, "Couples on the Fault Line: New Directions for Therapists""
