Print on Demand. This book concerns the life of Greek historian Thucydides, a direct witness to two decades of the Peloponnesian War. The author delves into what made Thucydides such a distinctive and important historian, particularly regarding his disruptions with his home of Athens and the impact it had on his writing. The work explores how Thucydides's lack of bias and independence created an invaluable historical resource, including an examination of his historical influences and methods, the themes present in his work, and the book's enduring significance as a foundational text in historiography. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book.
