A #1 BEST-SELLING NEW RELEASE IN AGING PARENTS ON AMAZON
A game-changing guide that names and claims the life stage of caring for aging parents for a new generation of adult children.
How are you doing?
Faced with this question after years of caring for aging parents, our response was “Do you want the easy answer or the real answer? Either way, we are not okay.”
Frustrated with the overwhelming pressure of trying to balance our everyday lives with the increasing demands of caring for our parents in a culture that still acts like this isn’t a real-life stage, we decided there had to be a better way.
This book, Thriving in Chaos: Navigating the Challenges of Aging Parents, was written for everyone feeling this squeeze—those navigating aging parents, raising their own families, and somehow keeping it all together (or at least trying to).
We dig into the real, sometimes messy issues and share practical wisdom on coping with stress, overcoming feelings of guilt and shame, and finding calm during the toughest days.
Filled with actionable guidance, thoughtful discussions, and examples to make each aspect of this journey with your aging parent more manageable exploring how to:
- Recognize the Adolescence of Aging in your aging parents.
- Manage through the Adolescence of Aging with your health and sanity intact.
- Handle the ups and downs of cognitive decline and dementia.
- Overcome the guilt, stress, and overwhelming sense of chaos.
- Face the present and future storms with strength and clarity.
“Thriving in Chaos: Navigating the Challenges of Aging Parents” is an indispensable companion for a new generation of adult children caring for their aging parents.

I love the book. It’s so good. I love how it balances practical advice with clear, sound information. I absolutely love the PACE acronym. I think it’s a great tool and so applicable to this phase of life. I’m already thinking of ways I could use the book with my clients’ children! 💜💜💜
- Susan Larson, Owner, SYNERGY HomeCare of Southern Twin Cities
I really enjoyed the book which provided such valuable information about aging. Dealing with aging parents is new for many going through the process for the first time and knowing we are not alone is comforting. Starting a movement talking about these matters that affect so many is greatly needed. Thank you Heather and Jayne for this very insightful information. I will be recommending this book to the adult children of my senior clients.
- Carey Lindeman, Founder of Promise Care, a Private Home Care and Family Care Consultant
Heather and Jayne share their journeys with honesty, compassion, and hope in this heartfelt book. Blending real-life stories, facts, and reflections, they provide tools, encouragement, and “glimmers of strength” to help navigate the challenges of caring for aging parents. An invaluable resource for anyone on this path.
