Books I and III are second impression (1951) ; Book II is first impression (1950). No Book IV. On all three volumes, bindings are solid. Pages are unmarked but a little tanned. Book I has one small ink mark on front endpages; Book II has inkstain on bottom edge. Illustrated covers are worn at edges (especially Book I) and soiled.
