Add to basketNora Delaney has spent years making herself smaller to keep everyone else comfortable.
When the life she sacrificed for finally collapses, a celestial stranger offers her something impossible.
A Restart.
Nora accepts, expecting a second chance at her own life. Instead, she wakes in another world, inside the body of Lysera Arrax, a dragon healer whose life was already woven into dangerous secrets.
In the mountain city of Aethyra, dragons wear human faces, magic is tightly controlled, and obedience is praised above truth. Everyone believes Nora is Lysera. Everyone expects her to remember a life she never lived.
The city remembers Lysera, even if Nora does not.
As fragments of another woman's memories begin to surface, Nora finds herself caught between the person she used to be and the legacy she never chose. The deeper she digs, the clearer it becomes that her arrival was no accident, and some truths were buried for a reason.
Starting over was supposed to be simple.
Instead, Nora may have inherited a fate that was waiting for her all along.
At the Threshold is a character driven adult fantasy for readers who love dragons, portal fantasy, found family, forbidden magic, complicated heroines, stubborn hope, and second chances that come with consequences. The first novel in The Restart Realms, an interconnected fantasy series.
Lois Sage writes adult fantasy for readers who love broken worlds, stubborn hope, complicated women, and the kind of magic that asks for more than it gives.
She is the author of The Marked Legacy trilogy and At the Threshold, the first book in The Restart Realms series. Her stories explore identity, agency, found family, second chances, and what it costs to belong somewhere without losing yourself in the process.
When she is not writing characters into impossible situations and then politely demanding they grow from them, Lois is usually reading, gaming, or wrangling her family and pets. She also enjoys singing deliberately off key to songs whose titles she cannot remember but whose lyrics she somehow knows by heart. A true millennial talent.
