She agrees to become his wife for seventy-two hours. By morning, one of them may be dead.
Five years after her father's mysterious death, crisis consultant Ava Monroe has learned never to trust the powerful Cross family - especially Julian Cross, the man who once broke her heart.
Then Julian appears with a marriage license and a key taken from her father's hand.
Someone inside Julian's billion-dollar empire wants him dead. To survive a three-night family conclave at an isolated Mediterranean villa, he needs a legal wife who can control his company if he is incapacitated. In return, Ava will gain access to the hidden archive that may reveal who murdered her father.
But their carefully negotiated marriage begins to collapse when a toast is poisoned, a body surfaces in an abandoned pool, and secret cameras turn their most private choices into evidence.
Trapped together with one bed, unfinished desire, and a killer inside the family, Ava must decide whether Julian is finally telling the truth - before their temporary marriage makes her a permanent widow.
A seductive romantic suspense novel about a marriage of convenience, second chances, dangerous family secrets, and the difference between being protected and being free.
