Synopsis:

Draw your sword and join the swashbuckling adventures of the renowned Three Musketeers, now written with young readers in mind!

Young d’Artagnan is bound for the city of Paris, France, where he hopes to join the royal guard, the Musketeers. But on his way to fulfilling his dreams, hotheaded d’Artagnan finds himself caught up in duels, traitorous schemes, and the mystery of a missing jewel. And this is just the beginning of his adventures!

Can the young swordsman really follow in his father’s footsteps and become a Musketeer? When he has a run-in with a trio of Musketeers―Athos, Porthos, and Aramis―d’Artagnan receives an unconventional education in honor and loyalty, swordsmanship and friendship. En garde!

With foil on the cover and vivid full-color art from Carlo Molinari, this adaptation of Alexandre Dumas’s The Three Musketeers promises to be an exciting first chapter book.

From Starry Forest Books, Classic Adventures brings action-packed adaptations of favorite classics to early readers.

About the Authors: Susan Hill CBE has been a professional writer for more than fifty years. Her books have won awards and prizes including the Whitbread and the John Llewellyn Rhys and the Somerset Maugham; and have been shortlisted for the Booker. Susan's writing career has encompassed acclaimed literary novels, ghost stories, children’s books, detective novels and memoirs. Carlo Molinari was born in Santeramo, Italy, where he grew up and now lives. All his life, he's had a passion for comics, especially those drawn realistically in a personal style. He began his education at the Liceo Artistico and went on to study painting at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Bari. In his spare time, he dances Argentine Tango. If he weren’t an artist, he would be a handyman, actor, or dancer―a character from a Moebius or Micheluzzi comic strip. He likes to listen to jazz, rock, and classical music while he works and taught himself English purely by using computer software.
