- Book 3 of 3: The Three Lives Led By Sigmund Freud
Delve into the life and legacy of Sigmund Freud, the father of Psychoanalysis, in this compelling and controversial three-volume biography. From his early years in Vienna to his groundbreaking theories on the human mind, this book captures the essence of a Jewish man whose ideas revolutionized psychology and continue to influence the field today. Each volume focuses on a unique professional period in Freud's life: Volume I, the Scientist; Volume II, the Philosopher; Volume III, the Psychoanthropologist.
Discover the stories behind Freud's most famous concepts, such as the Oedipus complex, dream interpretation, and the id, ego, and superego.
Dr. Larry S. Milner brings to light how Freud's Jewish identity influenced his life and work, particularly in the context of the social and political climate of his time. Dr. Milner discusses the Oedipus complex and Freud's book, Moses and Monotheism at length. Ultimately, Dr. Milner's emphasis in this series is on Freud's failure to properly portray Oedipus, as well as the heritage of Moses.
Explore Freud's personal struggles, professional triumphs, and the controversies that surrounded his work. Through Dr. Milner's meticulous research and engaging narrative, this biography paints a vivid picture of Freud's journey, offering a nuanced view of his contributions and the impact they had on the world, and will be an important addition to the future of Psychoanalysis.
Perfect for both scholars and those new to Freud's work, this book is an essential read for anyone interested in the mind and the man who dared to explore its deepest recesses.
This three-volume series maps an unforgettable journey into the life of Sigmund Freud and the enduring legacy he left behind.
