Review
"The word creed comes from the Latin credo, meaning “I believe.” A creed is an authoritative statement of basic articles of faith which the Christian church affirms. In Article 9 of the Belgic Confession, three short documents dating from the early history of the Christian church are named as creeds: the Apostles’ Creed, the Nicene Creed, and the Athanasian Creed. The adoption of the Belgic Confession by the sixteenth and seventeenth-century synods of the Reformed Churches in the Netherlands implied approval of these creeds. They are called “ecumenical,” meaning general or universal, because they are accepted by most Christian churches...May God grant that the doctrinal standards continue to serve as a blessing for many. For “Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls” (Jer. 6:16)." - Dr. Joel Beeke
"With heart-felt appreciation I commend Solid Ground Christian Books for bringing The Three Forms of Unity into a handy paperback edition. I have long felt that The Heidelberg Catechism is one of the richest most comforting catechisms in Christian history. I have often turned to the first question and answer of that great catechism in my public teaching ministry, in the pastoral ministry of comforting the afflicted and as a personal help to my soul. Solid Ground Christian Books continues to lead the way in producing God-centered resources that are of such quality that they will last a life-time. I am very excited about The Three Forms of Unity which offers a great summary of the glorious theology of the Reformation. Get a copy for yourself and as a gift for others." - Ray Rhodes, Jr. is President of Nourished in the Word Ministries and author of Family Worship for the Reformation Season
