A long-dormant flame is reignited, and worlds collide.
Tired of being labeled “too much,” Bri wanders from town to town, never letting anyone get too close. Anyone besides her two sisters and built-in best friends, that is. When she feels inexplicably called to a quaint town overlooking the Missouri River, she decides to try her hand at sinking down some roots only to find that small towns aren’t always what they seem.
Caleb’s world is a small but happy one. He knows everyone in town and is the guy people turn to when they need something fixed–from broken hearts to a rickety set of stairs. When he quite literally crashes into the fiery new redhead in town that has all the gossips abuzz, his world is forever changed.
Passion flares, unlocking a secret buried deep. They’ll soon learn that she’s not too much and he’s so much more than he gives himself credit for.
Dark forces converge when their love sparks a flame that may be the key to overcoming an evil sealed away for millennia. As the choices they’re forced to make drive a wedge between them, will they be able to stand against a power that nearly ended the world at the very dawn of civilization?
Their path is a perilous one, fraught with deception and danger. Myth and magic coalesce around a picturesque small town where nobody is what they seem. Is the town gossip just that, or is she the pawn of a sorceress hellbent on controlling the threads of fire woven into the fate of the world?
Threads of Fire is the first installment of the Mere Mortals trilogy, a spicy romantasy about three sisters torn apart from each other, their world, and their very selves. Cast out by an ancient curse, they travel the modern world unaware of who they truly are, condemned to live as mere mortals until an unlikely hero reignites a hidden spark. Love and fate collide as each sister must come to terms with the power within to save everything they hold dear.
