What does the Bible say about abortion?
This book offers a clear biblical perspective on abortion—not through speculation or emotional appeals, but through a careful, verse-by-verse examination of God’s Word. Drawing only from the inspired words of Scripture, this book walks readers through a sweeping biblical theology of life in the womb, the image of God, the shedding of innocent blood, the call to defend the weak, and the role of the church in helping struggling mothers.
Rather than appealing to emotion or secular reasoning, this book grounds its entire argument in the authority of God's Word. It answers questions many never think to ask-What does the Law of Moses say about preborn life? How did the prophets speak about child sacrifice? What did Jesus and the apostles assume about the unborn? What should the church's response be to abortion?
With pastoral warmth and theological precision, the author presents a bold Christian response to abortion, showing that the sanctity of life in Scripture is not a vague principle, but a deeply rooted truth from Genesis to Revelation.
This is much more than a pro-life book for Christians. Readers will see how abortion and the Bible are directly connected, how the preborn are viewed through God’s eyes, and how the church must act in light of His truth.
If you’re searching for a Christian view of abortion and sanctity of life, rooted in Scripture and full of grace and truth, this book was written for you.
Endorsements:
“The hopelessness of our culture and the harm people callously inflict upon one another shouldn’t come as a surprise. For generations, we’ve been told that humanity is a cosmic accident, lacking any intrinsic value or heightened dignity. Such cheapened human lives can be discarded at will, and the most vulnerable—the unborn—are the easiest of all to destroy.
This book brings much-needed hope by demonstrating, with careful precision, that the dignity of humanity is woven into every part of God’s revelation in Scripture. Steve Rohn compellingly shows us that the case for human value isn’t confined to a few proof texts or pragmatic arguments, but is integral to the self-understanding of our human condition, as outlined in Scripture. In that sense, Steve has done us a double service, for in helping us argue against abortion, he is ultimately equipping us to contend for human significance. Blessed by God, such truths can turn the tide and shine light into the deepest darkness. Highly recommended.”

“The book needs to be read by every pro-life advocate, every crisis pregnancy center, every seminarian and pastor. Steve Rohn’s book, Thinking Biblically About Abortion, in expositing the biblical text about the evils of abortion, informs the conscience and makes true one’s moral compass. When you’re done reading this book, and the Scriptures themselves, you will have a renewed conviction concerning the evils of abortion, you will have an informed conscience, your heart will be aligned with God’s heart.”

"Abortion is a divisive issue among Americans and a divisive issue among those who call themselves Christians. But this should not be the case: scripture is clear on what we should believe about abortion and is clear on how we should respond to it. In this book, Steve Rohn concisely and accurately explains and applies what the Bible has to say about abortion. His book is rich in biblical truth and he has a knack for finding relevant passages that are often overlooked by many (including myself). I was helped and encouraged by this book and I have confidence that you will be edified as well."
