Paperback. 'Things We Do for No Reason is a sharp, deeply human exploration of modern medicine's quiet failures-those routine tests, prescriptions, referrals, and interventions that often persist not because they help, but because they are familiar, expected, and profitable. Through vivid clinical stories and practical insight, the book follows the patient who walked in well and left worse, the doctor who finally questioned the habit, and the hospital systems that reward doing more over doing what is right.Written for doctors, students, and thoughtful readers alike, this book challenges the culture of over-treatment with clarity, empathy, and hard-won wisdom. It is both a mirror and a call to action: to look honestly at the things medicine does without reason-and to learn the courage to stop. This item is printed on demand. Shipping may be from our Sydney, NSW warehouse or from our UK or US warehouse, depending on stock availability.
