An important early Soviet agricultural study by Ivan Vyacheslavovich Yakushkin, a prominent agronomist, plant scientist, and specialist in crop cultivation. The book examines the principles and scientific foundations of crop rotation, explaining how the systematic succession of agricultural crops affects soil fertility, yields, plant health, and the productivity of farming systems. Drawing on Russian and international agricultural experience, Yakushkin discusses the selection and sequence of crops, the importance of preceding crops, and the role of crop rotation in organizing efficient agricultural production. The work reflects the development of agronomic science in the Soviet Union during the 1920s and is of historical interest to researchers of agricultural history, soil science, crop production, and early Soviet scientific publishing.
