Allowed to attend a reception given by one of the directors of her parents' museum, she unexpectedly stumbles across Mr. Tetley of the British Museum - In most unusual circumstances Since Theodosia has last seen him in a showdown in an ancient Egyptian tomb, his reappearance could mean only one thing: the Serpents of Chaos are back. But Theodosia has little opportunity to look for Chaos or ferret out their plans. She's been assigned to catalog the jumble of artifacts down in the catacombs, where some of the most long forgotten, cursed objects lurk. Not until scores of mummies go missing all over London and turn up at the Museum of Legends and Antiquities does Theo realize things are spiraling out of control. Her father falls under suspicion, and Theo struggles to keep him out of jail. Soon her hands are quite full - juggling unwanted mummies, trying to discover what the Serpents of Chaos are up to, and avoiding a bothersome string of governesses. Not only that, but one of her only allies, Sticky Will, seems to have secrets of his own. Once again Theodosia will have to take on secret societies, evil curses, and dark magic too sinister to imagine, especially if it falls into the wrong hands. Blocked at every turn, Theodosia will have to rely on her own skill and cunning - along with a little help from the most unexpected places - to avoid an evil conspiracy that strikes at the very heart of Britain.…

Theodosia Throckmorton is in a fix.
Allowed to attend a reception given by one of the directors of her parents’ museum, she stumbles across Mr. Tetley of the British Museum—in most unusual circumstances! Since Theo has last seen him in a showdown in an ancient Egyptian tomb, his reappearance could mean only one thing: the Serpents of Chaos are back.
In this second book in the popular series, Theodosia will once again have to take on secret societies, evil curses, and magic too sinister to imagine, especially if it falls into the wrong hands. Blocked at every turn, Theodosia will have to rely on her own skill and cunning—along with a little help from the most unexpected places.
This highly praised, exciting middle grade series is a must for fans of mysteries, humor, and nonstop action.
With a legendary magical artifact loose in the museum, Theodosia’s problems are just getting started.

- Magical Artifacts and Ancient Curses: From the legendary Staff of Osiris that can reanimate the dead to the sinister power of the Serpents of Chaos, Theodosia must use her wits to keep dangerous magic out of the wrong hands.
