Learn to read with the classic Amelia Bedelia!
A classic Amelia Bedelia story is now an I Can Read Book! With illustrations based on the original art of Fritz Siebel, this laugh-out-loud favorite comes to life as the lovable, literal-minded housekeeper strips the sheets, pares the vegetables, and makes a jelly roll for Great-Aunt Myra's visit. This Level 2 I Can Read is perfect for kids who read on their own but still need a little help.
"No child can resist Amelia [Bedelia] and her literal trips through the minefield of the English language--and no adult can fail to notice that she's usually right when she's wrong."--The New York Times Book Review

About the Author
Peggy Parish (1927-88) first created the beloved character Amelia Bedelia in 1963. She wrote a total of twelve books about the zany antics of the charming housekeeper. Peggy Parish's nephew, Herman Parish, then carried her tradition into the twenty-first century with new stories about classic Amelia Bedelia and new books about her childhood. With total sales of 60 million copies, Amelia Bedelia is one of the most iconic children's book characters of all time.
Barbara Siebel Thomas is the daughter of Fritz Siebel, who illustrated the original Amelia Bedelia books. She worked as an art director before devoting full-time work to painting and illustrating. She lives in Bridgehampton, New York.
