The book is divided into two volumes; the chapters in the first volume deals with the general introduction, taxonomy and genomic analysis, classification of fungus, pathogenesis and immunology of fungal infections. The subsequent chapters in this section provide an overview of the epidemiology, diagnosis, antifungal agents available for treatment, management, and prevention of fungal zoonoses and sapronoses. It also classifies anti-fungal agents and discusses the mechanism of resistance to these agents. Lastly, it presents the challenges in the treatment of the fungal diseases. The second section discusses important fungal infections and disease causing fungal agents. It also provides information on the pathogenesis, pathology, immunology and clinical manifestations. Cutting across the disciplines, this book act as a guide to the undergraduate and post graduate students of medicine, veterinary and allied sciences who deals with fungal infections.
Professor Subhash Chandra Parija is the Vice-Chancellor of Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth, A Deemed-to-be University at Pondicherry, and is the former Director of the Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), Pondicherry, India. With almost 45 years of teaching and research experience in the field of medical microbiology, Prof. Parija is a Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) expert and has been consulted to draft guidelines on preventing foodborne parasites. He was on the MD examination boards at Colombo University, Sri Lanka; Sultan Qaboos University, Oman; and the University of Malaya, Malaysia. He received a D.Sc. from Madras University for his contributions in the field of medical parasitology. . He has one granted patent, one published patent, 23 copyrights, and one technology transfer. Prof Parija authored /edited 19 books, including the most popular “Textbook of Medical Microbiology &Immunology ”, “Effective Medical Communication, The A,B,C,D, E of it”; & “Textbook of Parasitic Zoonoses “ all published by Springer. He has published more than 430 papers in the reputed national and international journals.
Dr. Shivaprakash M Rudramurthy is working as a Professor at the Department of Medical Microbiology, Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh, India. Prof. Shivaprakash has worked diligently in the field of medical Mycology for the last 21 years, being involved in the research activities on fungi and fungal infections, training personnel in this speciality, providing service of identification of the fungi, supplying cultures for teaching, research, diagnostic activities and conducting national level external quality assurance program for mycology. He has written sixteen chapters and has more than 280 publications .He is presently a core member of the Global Antimicrobial Resistance and Use Surveillance System (GLASS) on antifungals

Effects of withdrawal
If you withdraw from this contract, we will reimburse to you all payments received from you, including the costs of delivery (except for the supplementary costs arising if you chose a type of delivery other than the least expensive type of standard delivery offered by us).
We may make a deduction from the reimbursement for loss in value of any goods supplied, if the loss is the result of unnecessary handling by you.
We will make the reimbursement without undue delay, and not later than 14 days after the day on which we are informed about your decision to withdraw from this contract.
We will make the reimbursement using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise; in any event, you will not incur any fees as a result of such reimbursement.
We may withhold reimbursement until we have received the goods back, or you have supplied evidence of having sent back the goods, whichever is the earliest.
You shall send back the goods or hand them over to Books Puddle, New York, New York, U.S.A., without undue delay and in any event not later than 14 days from the day on which you communicate your withdrawal from this contract to us. The deadline is met if you send back the goods before the period of 14 days has expired. You will have to bear the direct cost of returning the goods. You are only liable for any diminished value of the goods resulting from the handling other than what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods.
