- Book 1 of 4: Diamond Lake, Texas
Dr. Tess Sweeney is finally settled and happy. Her great-aunt left her a lake home in beautiful Diamond Lakes, Texas, complete with boat. She’s taken a prestigious position as Chief of Surgery at the local hospital. After a series of hits and misses with love, she’s met her soul mate in Sheriff Kyle Monroe. Her life is a bed of roses until a tragic accident brings a revengeful ex-lover back into her life.
Sheriff Kyle Monroe is rounding out his first term as sheriff of Diamond Lakes, Texas and gearing up his run for re-election. His staff is great. He’s developed a health working relationship with the courts and he’s at last found the love of his life. Re-election should be a snap. His life is everything he could dream of until a tragic, accident places a critically injured child on Dr. Sweeney’s operating room table and she's accused of murder.
Threats, murder charges, medical malpractice and blackmail pull Kyle and Tess’s relationship to the breaking point. But Kyle won’t let Tess go without a fight. If she runs, he’ll find her. If she fights, he’ll fight beside her.
