Print on Demand. This book captures the struggle of Edoardo Carpineto as he lives in an isolated village with his fisherman mother and blind from a childhood accident. In the summer, Edoardo and his mother welcome Edoardo's cousin Caterina to their home. While they initially struggle to connect, they soon discover common affection for the sea. Their tranquil existence is interrupted when Caterina's father shares devastating financial news, prompting her stay at Edoardo's. Rich in evocative descriptions, this book explores the transcendent power of art and human connection amidst hardship. The author weaves themes of family resilience, the loss of innocence, and the search for identity into a deeply moving tale. This enduring novel brings readers into Edoardo's world, illuminating the forgotten corners of turn-of-the-century Italy and the enduring bonds that defy all odds. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book.…
