The task of educating our children and preparing the next generation for service to the Lord in all of life is an incredibly important undertaking. No responsibility from God is more important for the well-being of those who will exercise their office and calling in the home and in society after us. Each generation is faced with this challenge. It is more than that. Educating the next generation is a holy duty that God himself has entrusted to us as Christians.
In Tell The Next Generation Dr. Van Dam, reflects with a biblical worldview on Christian, and specifically Reformed education. This collection of essays is divided into four sections dealing first with the task of Christian Education, second, with the importance of language, third, with science and education and finally a challenge for teachers and graduates.
"Embark on a profound exploration of Christian education with this enlightening collection of essays that skillfully dissect the "why" and "how" of nurturing faith-based learning. Written from a Reformed perspective, each essay serves as a guiding light, offering clarity on the roles played by the home, school and church in shaping the spiritual and intellectual development of the next generation. From the detailed description and analysis of the roles of the home, school, and church to the nuanced exploration of challenging topics like homeschooling, each essay provides invaluable insights for navigating the fundamental questions surrounding Christian education. Two essays specifically delve into the power of language within a Biblical context, while another three explore the intricate relationship between science and the Bible, offering profound insights into understanding God's special and general revelation and the relationship between faith and reason. "Tell the Next Generation" is an indispensable resource for anyone seeking guidance on the topic of why and how to educate the next generation for service to the Lord. Whether you are a teacher, parent, home schooler or a board member, these essays provide excellent and accessible resources for navigating the fundamental questions surrounding Christian education in both the home and school settings". Dr Derek Juan Swarts - CEO Free Reformed School Association (Western Australia)
