Store description

Daisyroots Books, Main Street, Grange-over-Sands, Cumbria LA11 6DP. UK Telephone: 015395 38817, email sales@daisyrootsbooks.co.uk, web www.daisyrootsbookshop.com Opening hours: Monday – Saturday 10.00 to 4.00. We also take Plastic ! Some parking in the street, big car park near by. Some of our customers come by Bus and Train, Grange Station short walk from the Shop. Daisyroots Books is a real bricks and mortar high street shop with three rooms over two floors. Established in Kendal in 1994 we have been trading in Grange since 2006. We aim to stock a very wide range of titles at prices to suit all pockets. At the last count there were over 22,000 books. Our quality standards are very high – so much so that it is not unusual at first glance for people to mistake us for a ‘new book’ shop. You will find an extensive fiction and literature section including everything from early PAN pulp fiction, through modern paperbacks and Penguins, to collectable first editions. Other frequently visited stacks are Railways, History, Lake District, Mountaineering, Observers, Military, and Mind, Body, Spirit. Keen to encourage children reading we have a stock of children’s and young adult’s fiction, children’s literature, and lots of bigger books for adults to read to younger children. Children’s collectable titles include Alison Uttley, Brent-Dyer, and an extensive range of early Ladybirds. Beyond books we offer the full range of new Ordnance Survey Landranger maps and a large but mostly north-west orientated selection of Ordnance Survey Explorer maps. Alongside these there is a goodly choice of second-hand maps. No excuse for getting lost. Cards are becoming ubiquitous in book shops – we are no exception. We favour Lake District artists with cards by Heaton-Cooper and by Nicholas Leigh. There are also some hugely popular and wickedly funny ones. Established in 1994 we are a family firm of professional book dealers. We've been selling on the internet since 2002 and have established a world wide reputation for service by mail order. People buying by mail especially like that we carefully pack our books in proper book boxes so they don't get damaged in transit. Whilst buying on-line is convenient nothing can beat browsing the shelves. So when you are in the Lake District do come and visit us. With so many high street bookshops disappearing, we're proud of our popular, well organised 'real' bookshop which is open all year round. You'll find a friendly welcome at our shop on Main Street, Grange-over-Sands, Cumbria.
